Well what I can I say, thank you very much EVERYONE for your responses and advice, yet another use for the humble cable tie! I wiggled one around in the drain hole and the small pool of water that was already forming disappeared. Awesome. Good tips on the bleach I think too.

Thanks for your very quick reply, much appeciated. I’ll give it a spin and let you know how things go. Just out of interest, do you know – where does the water go/what happens to it when it disappears into that drain hole? I know b*gger all about how fridges work, just curious!
