ParticipantHi Dave,
I turned the switch and tested between the blue wire and black wire opposite and didn’t get a reading..I also removed the blue wire connector it looks clean, but I did find what looks like a contact lying in the oven housing under the switch (!) – Ive attached a photo belowswitch.jpeg and also attached a cleaner photo of the switch – switch1.jpeg https://www.dropbox.com/sh/djelxcrs030zcyk/AABAjA8FdJPrjBIrBv6ci1Qva?dl=0
Many Thanks

ParticipantHope its ok to upload a dropbox link to photos https://www.dropbox.com/sh/djelxcrs030zcyk/AABAjA8FdJPrjBIrBv6ci1Qva?dl=0 –
Using my multimeter on same setting (200) I’ve tested what I assume to be the thermal cut (thermal1.jpeg) I tested with both wire and connected and then with 1 wire removed and got the same result – 00.5. There did seem to be a bit of scorching around one of the connectors (thermal2.jpeg)
Earlier in the thread electrofix mentioned there may be 2 thermal cut outs on this oven – I dont know if this is one shown (possthermal.jpeg) near the fan with white/green/brown wires to it? I only seem to get a reading of 00.5 when I test the white & green, meter doesn’t move on other permutations.
switch.jpeg shows the switch at the back of the knob which doesnt show any signs of scorching etc.
Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

ParticipantSo I’ll be honest, I started this thread about 4 months ago and pretty much gave up hope of fixing the top oven..now I have a lot of time on my hands (!)and thought I’d try again – just in case the bottom oven goes and then we’re screwed!
Problem as above, no heat in top oven, fan comes on but noting else.
I had a friend round last time who was doing the testing, I don’t have that assistance now and I’m starting from scratch with testing with a multimeter and knowledge gained from watching youtube vids..(!) .so please bear with me!
The element has 4 prongs at the rear of oven – 2 on left have one green cable, and 2 to the right have a black/white cable and a red cable, I attached the multimeter to the green cable connector on left and red cable connector on right and got a reading of 47.8.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

ParticipantReally appreciate all your help, tried again today – even used a different multimeter and we’re still getting the same results..
As above removed one side of element set meter to continuity and got a good reading 39, tried the lower element of the top oven as well and got a reading of 48 – even removed both elements and tested them and got the same readings.
Also did a live test on thermo cut outs & getting 240, switches seem fine as we don’t get 240 until we knock the switches on, just can’t understand how we can be getting power to the elements (grill and bottom element) in top oven and no heat / light etc, only thing we get is the fan on, yet everything works fine in the bottom oven!
Anyway thanks again for all your input, I think it’s time to call out professional help..or buy a new oven!

ParticipantThanks for your reply, we’re using a multimeter & getting 240v, if the element wasn’t ok would that also explain why the oven lights (both int & ext ) don’t come on but the fan does?

ParticipantYeah we have 240v across the terminals, as well as the light not coming on inside the oven the small thermostat indicator on the front control panel doesn’t illuminate either, only thing that works in top oven is the fan

ParticipantThanks for your replies Dave,
We’ve tried again today and both cut outs / switches have live & continuity but the problem persists – fan comes on but no light or heat!November 28, 2019 at 2:27 pm in reply to: Beko ODF22300X double oven – top oven/grill not working #464873dazl
ParticipantThanks Dave, Yes Live is getting to/from the switches but it seems no power is getting to the element.

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP 8342 – Wont Stop!
Many thanks Dave,
Your right the water is cold, and we have been using 3 in 1 tablets.
When you say heater cut-out does that mean it can normally be re-set and if so how easy it!?
If it needs a new thermostat are they easy to obtain and is it worth it?
Thanks again,
Darren.
