Thanks. New element ordered. Just hope I don’t lose the connecting wires in back of oven when changing !

Thanks for the prompt reply. On further inspection (removing the back panel in the oven compartment) I can see the element has now completely burnt through (essentially now in 2 halves) so I shall try to get a replacement. It looks like a couple of spade terminals are used to connect it to the power supply. The model no. is 48147S if anyone can advise a source for a replacement element (not sure of the wattage on it though).

    Once again,. thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. I do move the machine once a year to clean the corrugated outlet hose and ball valve which seem to get a build up of soap/scale. I’ll put the hose inspection on my checklist.

New thermostat fitted & works at the correct set point and controls within 5 deg. C. Not a simple job, as I was warned, mainly due to lifting out the oven from the housing to get at the back to remove/insert the stat.

I was very pleased with the service from the company I was put in touch with via this site. The engineer was punctual & very competent. First class job.

    Re: Iceline freezer

I have the same freezer. It sounds like the programmer inside is spending too long on defrosting. This is a device within the top of the freezer which should defrost the freezer every 15 mins per hour (or something like that). We had a faulty one that didn’t de-frost which resulted in excessive ice formation. The part was available when we had ours repaired (ca 12 months ago).
