Ive asked this question a few times before but never had a straight answer. I have one of these whirlpool american freezers and I got the usual problems listed by many on here .ie defrosting alarms ect . I initially changed changed the main caps on the rear board and this cured the problem temporaly . So I decided to perchase a new board from here and it still doesnt work . The fridge leds say 5 and the feezer says – – and flashes and beeps . Round the back the compressor is hot and the fan works . My question is do I have to replace the front board as well as the rear . I asked this before but they were saying can u check commpressor ,fan ect… I don’t know how old the fridge is but my serial number for fridge is 858617215000 110607009580 So I just need to know if its one board or two .thanks billy

It did need the rear module cos originally it was fixed by replacing the caps . also the new board cured other problems like no water and lettres on digital display . Is it worth mentioning that the old board had small carbon burns on the back ? Oh and the fans working .

Hi I too have one of these crappy whirlpool freezers .I bought it as a graded apliance and after about 18 months there was a power cut and it started defroting flashing and beeping . After reading this forum I bought some capacitors for the rear PCB . It worked for a month then it did the same again I took the PCB back out and replaced it but it aint working . Ive got a bad feeling I have to fork out another ton plus for afront one too . Serial numbers are 858617215000 110607009580 . Could someone please advise ?

after a powercut my wpool yankfreezer did all that usual stuff ticking defrosting refreezing and a buzzing sound coming from the back so after reading these posts I bought some of those lego things (capacitors) from cpc and a bit of circuit board wire I pulled off the 4 main ones and replaced them took a lot of fannying about with my cheap soldering thing but I did it and it worked ! Didnt get ice for a while but now even that works YIPEE!! saved me a cuppla ton Well buzzin ta very much u lot
