ParticipantI received an email form Liebherr this afternoon (16/10/25) saying that they will replace the fridge freezer with a new one as it is under guarantee with the same model number.
I hope the new one will last many years…

I have tried pouring hot water down the tube several times and their was only 1 occasion that it worked as I mentioned in a previous post. Water, brushes and tubing do not come out of the bottom of the drain pipe. Myself and 2 engineers have tried it and seen that it doesn’t. Since then the water does not go where it should do, it seems to build up elsewhere behind the freezer compartment, I use the syringe and tubing to extract the water once a day as it starts to overflow into the fridge.
The Liebherr engineer said that the removable panel in the freezer only accesses parts for the freezer and that the drain pipe cannot be accessed this way.
It is ridiculous that the drain pipe cannot be accessed and maintained as necessary with this Liebherr fridge freezer.
My previous fridge freezer which was a Zanussi / Electrolux was never a problem, if the drain pipe blocked which it rarely ever did in the 18 years that I had it then it was immediately solvable.

ParticipantI have just had the Liebherr engineer visit and all he did is take the cover where the compressor is and put his brush down the fridge drain hole. He could then see that his brush wasn’t going all the way down to the end of the pipe (which is what I said on the phone when making the appointment).
The engineer said that it could be an insulation issue or possibly a thermostat problem.
I mentioned about the removable panel in the freezer compartment and he said all that is for is to access the freezer part of it and that you cannot access the drain pipe as it is has to be accessed from the back. The back is sealed and not removable.
I should hear something from Liebherr in the next 24 o 48 hours.
Sadly I am not surprised that he was unable to fix the problem.
As I said in a previous post, the water is going somewhere else behind the fridge and not down the drain pipe anymore.

ParticipantThe fridge drain hole still keeps getting blocked. I have tried unblocking it with a syringe and some tubing (bought from eBay), I have also tried a net curtain wire (outside of which is plastic). Both of which appear to go all the way down to the end of the fridge drain tubing however it doesn’t come out the other end (I have looked). I have also tried hot water. I have tried these methods several times now. It did unblock it briefly with these methods once however within a few days it got blocked again. My fridge and freezer are very clean. I have also had the engineer visit from the retailer and he put his brush down the drain hole but again it didn’t unblock anything. This has been going on for several weeks now. It’s weird and very frustrating.

Candy only have a replacement 2 meter hose. I need a longer one as mine was stretched (too much) to the maximum length.

Participantelectrofix wrote:use both hoses
use a 3.6 from the machine thern get a 4 inch and use it to extend using duct tape
be aware you will get condensation forming in the hoses so make sure there is no where in the route it can pool
Dave
Sorry I should have mentioned that my vent hose has got a few small holes at the exhaust end and is a bit squashed in places due to the way I have to route to my window. It needs replacing. It only just reaches the window and I have to hang it out every time I use the tumble dryer.
The ring that Candy provide has never really fitted in the machine properly so I have to squash the hose a bit against the wall otherwise it comes out every time I have to hang it out the window

ParticipantI managed to get the top panel off the tumble dryer today. I used a pair of work gloves with some grip on the palms. I put a bit of oil on each side near the front top of the machine on each side and put a skimming spatula underneath with a bit of oil smeared on top to lubricate and to prise it a bit.
There are 2 screws about 7cms (1 on each side of the machine) from the back of the panel and they stand up so the top panel can slide and help secure it in place. Last night I couldn’t slide the top panel enough to get past them hence they were still securing it further.
The problem last night was that the back plastic came off the top panel so I couldn’t grip the piece top panel properly.

Don
Yes I have tried lifting and wiggling it at the rear but it won’t lift up more than about 2mm, it’s like there is something else holding it in place. I have yanked and lifted quite a lot and can’t keep doing that as I had an operation for a bilateral inguinal hernia last year.
I have tried pushing down a bit on the front top as well to try and help slide it but nothing seems to work. I can’t upload an image here as the limit is tiny for file sizes.

If there are no side screws then the worktop lids usually have to be either wiggled from the rear or a sharp tap from the front.
Don
It’s a Candy CSV V9LG-80 tumble dryer. I bought it just over 4 years a go. The door lock was replaced near the end of the 1 year guarantee by a service man. The lid hasn’t been opened since, and the tumble dryer has been used quite a lot.
The lid is chipboard covered in plastic and there is a plastic strip which came off as I was pulling at it from the back. The lid doesn’t lift up more than about 2mm at the back. It appears to be swollen / siezed.
