Re: UK Whitegoods drain pump compatibility

    Many thanks kwatt and Martin.

Yes, the smell seems to emanate from the rear of the washer dryer. Hopefully that rules out the heating chamber. The machine still works and there’s no obvious blackened surfaces to indicate a failing component.

The metallic smell from the rear of the washer dryer resembles the clutch skipping in a drill. I thought it might be some frictional damage/belt slip occurring in external components.

Re: UK Whitegoods drain pump compatibility

Thanks kwatt. To get an idea of fluff build up inside the machine I checked the lint filter (in front of the drain pump) and it’s empty.

Where would a metallic burnt smell emanate from if there’s something in the heating chamber? Inside the drum or behind the washing machine?

I guess my next step will be to run a drying cycle and check if there’s any metallic burning smell again.

Re: Replacing Electrolux EWX147410W Washer Dryer’s drain pum

Many thanks to all, especially Martin! Was able to finally twist off the drain pump.

I ordered the replacement pump from ukwhitegoods but they sent a M109 pump instead of the M113. It seems to be compatible and is working in our washer dryer. I wouldn’t have accepted the substitution from a less reputable supplier.

Overall I’ve had a very possible experience of this support forum and associated online shop.

Thanks Tim. Whoever designed this washer dryer should be shot (or maybe I just have fat short arms). An access hatch under the front cover or absence of a bottom sill would have made this such a simple replacement.

Hope I don’t have to separate the impeller from the field coil to get this in! The twist fit pump is below.

Re: Replacing Electrolux EWX147410W Washer Dryer’s drain pum

    Many thanks Martin!

A while ago I did try accessing the drain pump by removing the rear panel. However the pump was quite hard to manipulate from the rear. It’s probably because I didn’t know what I was doing. I was tempted to cut the plastic sill that’s under the washing machine and gain access from there but thought I should check UK Whitegoods first!

Guess I’ll give the rear panel another shot. Any further tips on making the drain pump replacement? Should I use a wedge to move the drum further away to increase my working area?
