    I’ve bought a new machine now, as it was quoted as over £100 to fix.
    One problem left, is there an emergency way to force the door open on the 8164D. I have some clothes left and and can’t get them out. There is no water in the drum.

    Yes. I also checked the carbon brushes on the motor unit and they are nearly brand new, hardly any wear at all. I bought the machine last year but only installed it 4 months ago.
