Thanks very much Greg and Penguin45. I have ordered the part and look forward to an oven that works.

    Regards,
    Don.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks to you, I have found the obviously burnt-out part. It looks like a short soft blue plastic pipe sticking out of the wiring harness. One end is sealed and there are four thin wires going into the open end, two blue and two white. One blue wire goes to the cooling fan, the other to the main control switch. A white wire goes to another lug on the main control switch while the other white wire goes to the clock control board close to a cut-out relay.

I cut the plastic off and found two small ceramic pieces inside with (among other numbers) “70°c” written on one piece. The cooling fan worked when this part was shorted out.

Please tell me what this part is called so that I can order a replacement from your shop.

    Kind regards,
    Don Loukes.

    Hi Greg and Penguin45,

Thanks for your replies. They made perfect sense when I read them, so I rushed downstairs and switched the oven on. You were correct. There is no breeze coming from above the door top. As soon as I get the time I will pull the oven out and test the cooling fan.

I am really glad I asked for your help before going out and buying a new clock control board!

    Kind Regards,
    Don.
