Thanks for the prompt response; must be due to the fact you’re just down the road from me… 😉

No, the discontinued model only comes with 1 year manufacturer’s warranty, hence the thought of the savings going towards either an independent warranty or the piggy bank for the first problem after 12m.

I’m leaning towards the Siemens, plus £80 to increase the warranty from 2 to 5 years with the peace of mind that JL are involved. Whichever, I’ll be waiting for the uplift and credit before I commit Mr Plastic.
