ParticipantOk, will do.Thanks Dave, will come back when I know!

ParticipantThanks Dave. I will check the continuity. The PCB relays may be more of a challenge as I don’t have the manual/diagrams. Do you have a link for this? Cheers

ParticipantHi Dave. Don’t know if you have any more thoughts but I’ve stripped the wires that were cut/nearly cut and attached them again. I’m still unfortunately getting the clicking sound from the control module at the top of the machine, and no movement at the motor. Any final thoughts or am I right in thinking I probably need to ditch… thanks

ParticipantLooking more carefully, the broken one appears to be going from the PCB control module at the top of the machine all the way down the side of the machine to the motor assembly, then into the motor through a junction box

ParticipantAha. The connections of the wiring look sound (as much as my untrained eye can tell). But I can see one of the wires appears to have taken an impact of some kind as here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Sxz4qg_6E_fPUrcrMwfoYbnD84yDieHM/view?usp=sharing
Presumably this would be the issue. Can I strip and reconnect these or does it need something more substantial?September 13, 2022 at 12:00 pm in reply to: John Lewis Heat Pump flashing “dryer cycle” sign #483590ec362
ParticipantNot yet. Where do I find those? Thanks so much for your help

ParticipantYes, it is. But as expected I fired it up and pressed start and all I get is the “click” in the module/PCB type thing at the top of the machine

ParticipantI can test if it runs now the belt is fully off, but I think all I’ll get is a “click” again!

ParticipantOk great. So the fix would be- purchase a new assembly of the spindle and plastic housing and reattach that + the spring. Again is there a service manual you’re using to get this info? Many thanks
ec362
ParticipantGreat thanks. Is there anywhere I can find the manual that’s showing the pictures you’re using? I don’t know if the motor is ruined, or just the assembly to the left (the big plastic wheel with the metal spindle through it). The spindle and plastic cover seems melted/broken and the plastic wheel was just hanging off. Does this indicate the motor is burnt out too do you think?
ec362
ParticipantBingo. Not sure about belt (looks fine, but the motor assembly that actually turns the belt is completely gone. The plastic wheel was still sitting on the housing but the rest was down at the bottom of the machine. I’ve taken a photo of the bits I was able to retrieve- including a spring and a burnt plastic bit

ParticipantUnfortunately the push start didn’t work. But taking the top off I noticed 2 things. 1) The black rubber (?) loop round the drum was loose (not sure if normal?) and 2) The click I described above was coming from the module on the right hand side of the inside of the dryer in the other 2 photos. Photos here

Thanks so much for your help. I did defrost it earlier and the problem returned about 2 months later- is the defrost system prob worth repairing? Thanks
