Good news, my machine is back up and running or more appropriatly spinning.
I repaired the damaged/open circuit track on the rotor possition sensor board and recoated/sealed the water affected area of the board, replaced it last night and away she went with no problems at all, thankfuly the sensors were alright and it was just an open circuit track. It seems to me that this board could stand to have a better coating that will resist moisture and probably more importantly the other corrosive elements found in the sort of environment that it lives. The protective coating or varnish that is applied to boards to protect them from corrosion and contamination was quite thin and easily damaged on this board, I guess everything is built to a price. other than that the machine was great to worl on, simple design, easy to dissasemble/reassemble. My faith in Fisher and Paykel is restored,

Thanks to Penguin45 for the info

Also Thanks to Nick at A1 washers in Prospect for his help, I reccomend him to anyone in Adelaide if they get to a point they cant resolve themselves. He also advised me that my problem was probably the rotor possition sensor.

    Regards,
    Keith.

Thanks for the info, I got to pulling the position sensor out last night and found some corrosion damage to the tracks, as I work at a place that does electrical engineering and production I will have a go at repairing the damaged tracks (hopefully the sensors arent fried), otherwise I know of a local place to get a replacement sensor board, I have been told it should be around 40-50 bucks, I hope it is just the position sensor board and not the control board. I will update when I have a result.

    Thanks again for the info.

    Great site 😉
