ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJ1003 will not switch on
Problem solved! Found out how the door seal is just snapped around the flange, and removed the lock module. Dismantled to see if any damage had occured and found that the problem was simply due to poor connections on the bi-metal/resistor stack which operates the microswitch mechanism. Just had to brighten the contact surfaces and re-assemble. The stack should measure 1.6Kohm across tags 2 and 3, but before cleaning it didn’t even measure on the 20Mohm range! Following re-assembly in the machine everything worked.
Hope this helps somebody with the same problem. 🙂Flyer
ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJ1003/B will not switch on
Further to last posting: I’ve look back at hisory and found someone had same problem. We’ve trying to remove door seal to access door lock. Have taken off the white locking ring (like a big tie-wrap) but nothing else moves.

ParticipantRe: Hoover TV30 Tumble Drier Thermal cutout
I’ve picked up this thread because I’m looking for the same thing for a Hoover TDC6UK condenser dryer. Since the last posting was in June I presume a source was discovered and a spare obtained. Please can someone point me towards the source?

ParticipantRe: Proline PL105DB Freezer
Thanks for that.
Presumably if we have to get an engineer to repair it then it will be uneconomical ie will cost more than the £90 (Approx) for a new one.

ParticipantRe: Gainsborough Energy 2000X Electric shower
Thanks , Dave. We already found this site and e-mailed for the part, but heard nothing yet. Yes, the coil is the only bit I need (open circuit) but I imagine it would be difficult to match it up with another item without the physical part in your hand.
Our coil measures 30mm long by 20mm dia, with a 10mm hole. It has a metal frame wrapped around it, and a label reading: 220/240V, 50Hz, 6W with the number ‘10625006’ underneath. May or may not be useful.
If your shop has anything to match this I would be interested to try it. The family are already complaining about lack of shower facility….Ian

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJ1003 Noisy!
😆 Thanks for your help Dave – you were correct as usual – it was a bra wire but must have been there for years, none missing from ones in current use!
Managed to access it by seeing though holes in drum as suggested, moving it with a long prodder to over the filter hose. Then released hose end from tank underneath the machine and removed the offending wire – which was quite bent! Took great care to ensure hose repositioned correctly and tight – no leaks!
Washing now in process nice and quiet – thanks again.
