Replaced main PCB.
Success – thanks to forum, Dave & Simon.
Cold cycle runs cold, hot cycle runs hot (but not too hot anymore).

Thanks Simon46 – I’d found on another thread that the relay was on the PCB and ordered a PCB thru this site – tho’ this site goes to great lengths to dissuade people from buying PCBs (‘cos apparently 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of those ordered aren’t really the solution) – so it’s great to have your reassurance that a PCB is appropriate in this case.

Cheers Dave – I should’ve guessed there’d be a relay involved for high wattage like heating – I’ll have to see if it’s a readily replaceable item.
