The machine now spins – but will only spion at slow speed. It goes approx half through then spin programme – and then the times jumps to end of programme. I ahve checked carefully that the load is not out of balance.

    Again, any ideas please??

Just had the exact same problem on my Exxcel 1400 check my post here:-

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ic&t=28698

It’s been fixed today it turned out to be the motor and it had to be replaced
my old motor was not clogged up with carbon dust and the brush holders had fluid movement the problem was an arking issues to do with the copper thingy (sorry as you can tell I’m not an expert) inside the motor that conducts the current from the brushes. New motor was only £90 +VAT but had to add call out and labour to that so it cost £190 in the end but cheaper than a new machine and we still have our trusty machine now restored to full working order.

Re: Bosch Excell 1400 Intermitent Spin Problem

Just wanted to post that the problem has been fixed today by the nice man from Bosch.

For anyone who may have read this thread and wondered what the problem could be it turned out to be the motor.

At first the machine behaved itself the engineer did a diagnostic check and found no error codes stored and he put it into a spin cycle and it behaved itself.

He decided to remove and inspect the motor/bushes etc and put in new brushes, once reassembled he ran a test spin cycle and the machine replicated the fault the motor cut out and it stopped spinning only this time with lots of arking. The engineer diagnosed a faulty motor.

New one installed a lot quieter and working well and not as expensive as I feared at £190 inc of call out labour and parts a lot cheaper than a new high end machine anyway.

Thanks to all who’ve read this and for the response I got also.

Re: Bosch Excell 1400 Intermitent Spin Problem

I appreciate that advice thank you. It does seem like a probable fault diagnosis as the fault went after the man in his van put new brushes in then after it refused to spin at all with new brushes put the old ones back in and it worked so I guess he must have freed up the brush holders enough to get it working again albeit for a short amount of time.

Stripping down the motor is beyond my know how and I would not want to attempt it with no experience or knowledge as I know that a new one is a lot of money so I think I’ll keep my engineer booking and let him check it out for me.

I don;t really want to have to replace it as it’s been excellent and I can’t afford to go out and buy another one so hopefully it’s an easy fix.

    Thanks again. 😀
