    Thanks I did read that. Don’t fancy Maytag really – read some bad things on some US forums so will probably go with Siemens – seems and looks ok with a 5 year warranty. Not a gambler so no Samsung for me!

    Think I have answered my own question – took element out and it has a bulge in it – suspect it has had it.
