I would flush the system first and change the dryer (filter)which is locate at the back of the fridge. This sometimes blocks with oil and restricts the gas flow making the compressor noisy

Hi Sounds like the water from the defrost has overfilled the container which is situated on top of the motor and consequently ran into the electrics 💡
