    Thanks for your help guys.
I dismantled the drum at the weekend. It was very difficult to get the shaft out of the bearing. When I did get it out I found that the inner bearing has broken down, the shaft has corrosion on it and the spider is broken. So I have ordered a new drum and it should be delivered in a few days.
Again thanks for the help and I hoping I can get it back together again without any major problems.

    Regards,
    Ger.

    I was afraid of that.
Do I use the screw hole for the pulley wheel to pull the shaft back into the new bearings?
How is the seal put in place inside?

Looking online I can get a complete assembled drum for £160. Maybe this is a safer bet.

    Thanks for the info.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA63s

    Hi All,

I am aware that this is an old forum that I am tagging onto but we have the same problem with our WMA63 washing machine and this forum explains it very well.

I am trying to decide between buying a bearing kit or a complete drum.

I have removed the drum from the machine and removed the front of the outer drum but I can not see how to remove the inner drum from the rear outer drum. Do I need special tools?

    Any advise would great.
    Thanks Ger.

    Re: Dishwasher will not wash

I looked up the NTC feeler probe. It is a thermistor where the resistance value changed as the temperature of the NTC changed.

I checked the one in my dishwasher. It measured approx 60K ohms and drops into the 50K ohms range when I hold it in my closed (warm) hand. This would indicate that it is working.

If the NTC probe is working, what is the next most lightly fault that would stop the dishwasher processor from detecting the NTC?

    Regards,
    Ger.

Thanks for the advice. This sounds about right. Looks like it will be easy to replace too.

    Re: Dishwasher will not wash

Thanks for your help Penguin45. I checked the machine and it has a metal tray under the motors and electrical wiring, almost at floor level. It did not have any water on it and I can’t see any sensor attached to it. Have I got the correct tray?

The light flashes similar to this face, on, off, on…. 😳 Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Ger.

    Re: Dishwasher will not wash

The error codes for the Whirlpool ADP903 dishwasher are not given in the manual for the machine.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the error code listing?

    Ger.

    Re: Dishwasher will not wash

Thank you for the reply. I didn’t know that the pattern of the flashing light was the fault code.

The light over the start button flashes on and off at even intervals approximately twice per second. It looks like the light is off a little longer than it is on each time.

    Ger.
