Re: Beko CDA648FW Fridge is freezing

Thanks, tha part is now ordered. Is the location the same as other CDA648 models on other threads here ?

Presumably the PCB is in the door and motor and mains filter are at the back ?

Thanks for the extra explanation. And for shipping them out quickly.

I did read all of that, but couldn’t find a bit that actually says what the thermisters do.
Have ordered the two replacements anyway…

Definitely not the door. It makes no difference if I activate the switch by hand or by closing the door.

Remind me what the thermisters operate. The fan, the baffle, ?…

Re: Hotpoint Mistral fridge/freezer not cooling

Fridge was down at about 6C when I got home. But by the end of the evening it had crept up to 9C. There is little or no air coming out of the vent in the fridge. Sometimes the fridge fan doesn’t cut in and needs a few activations of the door light switch to get it running. Even then there is very little air flow.

Is this the famous thermisters ?

Just moved into vacant property. It’s probably been almost two weeks since the fridge was turned back on.

Left switched off overnight and started back up this morning. Definitely cold air coming out of vent top left inside the fridge behind the light.

Will vaccuum out the inlet and see how it goes.

So, fitted a new “thermostat” and all is well. Still don’t really understand how it works. It’s apparently not a thermostat but a timer that runs the compressor for different lengths of time, but it still has a temperature probe that sits behing the cooling plate.

When I turn the thermostat dial up and down, should I hear it trying to click on and off, like a normal thermstat ?

The ice is soft. What could that mean ?

Door seal seems OK except for maybe 10mm open at the bottom corner on the opening side. Is that enough to be causing all of this ?

The instructions talk about setting the “thermostat” at different levles depending on ambient temp. Is it really a thermostat or a timer that just runs the compressor for different lengths of time ?

Any thoughts on why the water isn’t draining into the drain hole ?

Slower pumping compressor causes more ice ? I would have thought the opposite that slower pumping compressor would not get the fridge cold enough…

Compressor, but not thermostat ? I defrost it myself by turning the thermostat to zero. Since the fridge seems to be cold, I was thinking thermostat. If the compressor was faulty, wouldn’t it struggle to get cold ?

Hard to say if the ice is thick or not. 1mm layer I suppose but that’s because I force the fridge to defrost every few days. Haven’t noticed any of the food frozen.

I don’t understand why the melted ice would drip off the plate and miss the drain hole.

In normal operation, how often would you expect the thermostat to defrost any ice off the cooling plate ?
