Hi Bill upon removal of the unit (modual) and inspection I could see the tell tale sign on a burnt board (PCB) . So how much these going for now ?

    Thanks again.

    Re: Smeg DWI 710 E1

Thanks for reply …. Ive tried doing the reset but it wont work either … if its the module then this would be the second one replaced … last one was a couple of years ago and then it was about £120 🙁

the Module is the PCB isnt it ? (forgot to mention that)

Cleaned out waste pipe etc …. still same fault …. starts up fills with water starts rinse cycle …. flushes waste water then stops. Anything I can do or part that is required ? Any help I would be very grateful.

    Re: Hotpoint VTD00

The fluff was a result of the black plastic filter tube coming off the filter extraction unit … it wasnt a great fit to be honest though now Ive sealed it onto the unit so if the flexy pipe is ever removed / replaced again the black tube wont come out the hole and thus result in it coming off the filter unit connection. This results in some if not all the fluff gathering inside the machine. Thanks again but at this point in time I wont require a Mod kit.

    Re: Hotpoint VTD00

Thanks for reply .. the metallic scraping was in refrence to sound not actually metal to metal contact. Like I mentioned the drum support had badly worn causing scuffing on the outer drum edge (galvanizing scuffed away) am guessing this resulted from the black plastic filter tube being dislodged from the tube vent when a new hose was fitted a short while back thus letting fluff dirt build up. I checked the bearing for play and there was also no movement on drum from front to rear. Time will tell ! Thanks again for the help and keep up the good work guys.

    Re: Hotpoint VTD00

I removed lid and checked bearing … it was ok .. fault lay with drum support at front of machine. It had worn badly on one and depending on load on drum was causing metallic noise. Quickly replaced with some wearstrip from work and job completed. Thanks again and understand fully at not being being able to explain in detail on strip down.
