ParticipantI still don’t think there has been a correct diagnosis of this fridge freezer, because it seems like an electrical fault rather than the compressor. The reason being that if I do a proper reset on it, leaving it switched off for a full hour before turning back on, it will work for several days before beeping again. That is why I thought the initial fix had worked for a few days.
If I just reset it by switching off, then off at the wall, [not waiting the hour switched off ] and back again, it will come on, but only for a short time. That can’t be the compressor can it? Given that if I do the full reset, it will chill for a few days before the alarm starts up again.February 7, 2020 at 10:00 am in reply to: Liebherr fridge freezer CUN 3113 diagnostics, tech manual request #466135heron

ParticipantTony, I’ve found a possible replacement unit that is ‘graded’ with one year warranty because there are dents, one of which has punctured the insulation to the fridge. Would that be a reason not to buy it functionally (I don’t mind about cosmetic)?

ParticipantThe alarm light stopped flashing for a bit, but then after some more time, started beeping and flashing as before.

ParticipantSince clearing the drain, the unit has stopped making a lot of noise, the grid at the back of the unit is now warm to touch, rather than lukewarm as previously. There wasn’t a lot of water that came off when I blow dried the radiator-like thing at the back of the freezer, so could this be a fix?

ParticipantThank you Tony, the freezer drain is blocked. Looks like you are onto something

ParticipantTony, yes, sorry it was the compressor that he said had bust. He did not do a gas pressure test. He was talking about ice at the back of the fridge. I unscrewed the back panel in the freezer and took this photo. There’s a bit of ice, but I don’t know what counts as ‘excess’.
I wasn’t able to post a photo here, but took a photo and uploaded it here https://imgur.com/a/vlZNpgB

ParticipantThank you for your support Tony, you have been great. I had a second engineer here today who was about to replace the fan in the freezer until he spotted that there was no ice on the back wall where there should be a thin amount of ice and said the condenser was failing and it’s beyond repair. I’ve ended up out of pocket £200 to discover this, after the wrong diagnosis by the first engineer. I am wondering whether to buy a cheap fridge freezer now, so I don’t go through this again.

ParticipantThank you Tony, it’s not icy, but i can see the fan isn’t spinning. so possibly that?

ParticipantThank you, it could be useful to know the specific codes in preparation for future fixes.

ParticipantTony, thank you for coming back about this issue. I understand what you say, which is what is written on the page i found too. Since changing the sensor fixed the problem, I wonder if the unit is an older model that had different fault codes perhaps.

ParticipantThank you Tony.
The error lights went off after several hours of ‘settling’ as recommended by Libeherr, everything seems ok now so am hoping it was the needed fix. The model I have flashed the alarm light in sync with the green temperature indicator block 5 (maybe other models’ codes are slightly different?)January 28, 2020 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Liebherr fridge freezer CUN 3113 diagnostics, tech manual request #466114heron
ParticipantUpdate on this error. With the 5 flashing, although this page is unclear about ‘5’, I thought it looked like the freezer air sensor
https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fault-codes/refrigeration-fault-codes/4358-liebherr-cunesf-fridge-freezer-fault-codes-2I had an engineer visit, and he called Liebherr tech team who recommended the thermistor part which arrived. I carefully fitted it according to the instructions, using the orange dot connectors to bring together the original and new cables in the little white cable box. When I switched the unit back on, the error code lights are still flashing.
Liebherr customer service suggested I do a 7 hour reset (one hour off, six hours to ‘settle.’ )
UK Whitegoods told me that if the repair was good, the fault would disappear immediately.
Advice welcome. -
