Re: Rinse Aid Pump
I realise that, I have been keeping Tropical Marine fish for years. I am looking to make a DE-NITRIFYING filter, that is in addition to the main filter, so it will not interfere with the main filtration system, just augment it. The idea behind the de-nitrifying filter is a very slow flow through filter media in a chamber, that is devoid of oxygen, to enable anaerobic bacteria to break down nitrates to nitrogen and free flowing oxygen..
I can see they are expensive new, but they are actually cheaper than the ones sold to the aquaium trade, and are better made with heftier bearings.
What I was thinking of was to cannibalize an old one out of a scrap dishwasher.
You say that the pumps are available in commercial dishwashers, I am assuming the ones in the home use ones are not suitable? It must be a perystalsic pump.
Are there any companies out there that break commercial dishwashers for spares?
Thanks.
