Oh! What a poor design 👿
As I recall, this was the top of the range when I bought it. Effectively 1/4 the price of a replacement fridge-freezer for the sake of the door seal – which was never going to be a particularly durable item.
💡 Maybe I can bodge a repair with some PVC tape.

I’m fairly sure that at least one of my problems is due to a slow fill (maybe the diswasher stopping mid-cycle is due to a timeout because of the fill taking too long?). I’ve tried resetting the AquaStop device but with no improvement. I can’t see where the water supply goes once it enters the dishwasher and it’s not at all clear to me how the water softener works. It appears that all the water enters via the bottom-left-most port on the metering tank assembly. Shouldn’t some enter via the bottom right-most port? If so, when? There is water in that line, so it has obviously got there at some point.
I read somewhere else of the softener effectively ‘wearing out’. How would I know if this is the case? What should the colour of the resin be?
Can anyone here enlighten me?
Thanks,

Unless I’ve had too much Christmas Spirit recently, all I can see there are installation instructions and an instruction manual.

Why they have a type number and an E-number I don’t know, but the E-number of my dishwasher is SMI2032GB/14. I can see only an installation instructions and an instruction manual in the Bosch eShop.
I’ve now had a chance to remove my dishwasher and take a closer look. No water in the drip tray. I removed the sump hose and cleaned it. Surprised to find that it is rotting/melting at the sump end; the wall is quite thin and a replacement hose will be needed soon. The ‘triple measure’ water inlet appears to work OK but all the water appears to come via the water softener (bottom left-most inlet on metering tank assembly). Shouldn’t any come direct (I’m guessing from the bottom right-most inlet)? As I said earlier, I used to hear the ‘hiss’ off a mains pressure inlet when filling, but not now. Are there 2 solenoid valves in the Aqua-stop device? How can I check these?
The initial problem I had noticed of the washing programme halting seems to be intermittent so opportunities to investigate are few and far between (and usually after the dishwasher has been re-installed !) but I did notice one instance where it stopped on pre-wash after the water had been added ( 3 measures) but before the pump had started. On other occasions it hasn’t stopped here. Does the programmer need any feedback from any sensor to continue at this point? Is there any way in which these 2 problems could be related? To my mind the programmer is a potential cause common to both but I don’t fancy paying £150+ on the off-chance.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks. I came across that thread this morning before posting my query but perhaps I didn’t give it due consideration. There was no mention of the washing sequence halting and – to my mind – that was my problem, although I realise now that I may have been to hasty and should go and check. I need to go back and read the post again, but more carefully this time.
I’ve got guests here at the moment so not able to start taking the kitchen apart but I can confirm there’s no puddle under the unit. I’ve not been able to take the front panel off yet to see if there is any water in the overflow tray.I’ve had a quick look in the Bosch shop but couldn’t see any schematics immediately. I’ll go and have a good look around later.
