ParticipantRe: CONNAUGHT PLC
Hi,
What a shame this has to happen to 10,000 employees. I bet the rubbish bosses that got them into the problems will be working next week trying to sink another company while getting their fat pay packets. Good luck to the 9980 hope a new job is not too hard to come by.

This work we have been doing for 21 years and last year Connaught took over the contract with the local council.
So you go with what on offer because it account for a noticeable percentage of your turnover. The company concerned is listed as one of the top 240 UK companies so you would assume that makes the honest and respectable.ilevett

Thought we might not be the only one. If anybody has money outstanding seems take action now to help your chances of getting paid.
The sort of things we came up against while dealing with them was, they don’t pay any invoices the month of their “year end” and the month of the “half year” so you at best only get the chance of being paid 10 times a year something they only told us when we had started work. When you call to chase money they say they cannot comment other than to say they have been told to defer all payment this month so you wont get anything until next month (if your lucky) If you ask to talk to any management they are never available but will call back this never happens. If you start making a fuss I was told we would very quickly find no work coming your way. We worked for them for 15 months and got paid only 4 times before we got our final cheque from our solicitor who dealt with the matter through the courts.
This sort of behaviour is what these large and prominent companies should be above. My experience of this firm has left me very suspicious of business ethics today and what are the so called captains of industry doing. I wonder if any one of them will see this problem through or will they just jump ship and sink another firm.
Seems to me they are trying to run companies and are clearly punching above their weight.

Hi All,
I had the call today and told them I would pay them in full if they paided us in full.
However they did offer me a deal to help sweeten the situation and they would settle the whole thing for a lesser payment but the payment was too them and not as I though to me. I politly refused and said see you in court.

The rate is surley the deciding factor you need look or ask any further. Anybody out there who has been in the business more than a few months can surely see the rate is not workable. We must put these people out of business by refusing these sort of rates. All the time people say “the rates are poor but they do pay and we dont do much for them” they will continue to prosper.
This is how profesional these people are, they send you an agreement in the post for you to fill in and send back without even knowing what you do or even if you are capably of doing it. Clearly this sums up their business and as one of the replys said look at what they are asking you to repair ( JUNK ).
Sorry to sound so negative but I realy feel its up to us to stop this. Well done DASA for trying.ilevett

CAN ANYBODY REMEMBER WHEN DYSON HIMSELF CAME TO SEE US TO SET UP A SERVICE NETWORK FOR THE VACUUMS. WELL WE SIGNED UP TO THE IDEA AND BOUGHT THE SPARES AND WERE ALL READY TO GO. SUDDENLY HE CHANGED HIS MIND AND LEFT US ALL WITH THE PARTS SOME OF WHICH I AM SURE ARE STILL IN STOCK. I SAY IF DYSON HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS BEWARE
