Re: Electrolux ESl 424 slight leak

The machine is not installed at the moment.

I did some testing in the garden using a RCD trip with the covers off after having cleaned the sump out.

I think I already knew the answer to the ‘is it safe’ question!!!
    Water and electricity hmmm…

I am looking for suggestions/tips on how to ensure a good seal.

    Cheers

Re: Electrolux ESL 424 keeps stopping

Thanks Penguin. I followed the instructions. The grumbling stopped but the machine was still stopping.

I stripped out the sump? assy and cleaned this out.
I tested the machine with the side covers and base plate off.
It now works but there is a very slight leak. Approx 1 tablespoon on the longest cycle I would estimate. The water is dripping onto the fill motor mounting plate and would gather on the base plate if it was fitted. It does not drip near any electrics or motors

I would guess that the sump seal is leaking slightly.
Does this require attention or will the water evaporate naturally?
If it does need correcting, are there any tricks to getting it to seal properly or is a replacement required?

The door switch is constantly active – machine keeps running.
It doesn’t latch either. Is the switch on the latch assy?

A mouse had nibbled through the waste hose soaking the floor!
Fortunately I have able to reverse the hose and trim the nibbled bit off.

Re: Elecrolux ESL 424 keeps stopping

    Thanks Dave

Is it just the noise symptom you are refering to?
Would this also cause the machine to stop after 2-3 mins?
Also the fact that the rinse cycle works is strange.

Re: Hoover fridge/freeze stainless steel plastic coating pee

    Thanks for the reply Dave

There is nothing in the user manual.
There was some film to remove on the sides. I think they had labels on saying to remove.

The bubbling is on the doors. The film goes behind the door seals and handles. It would come off with some careful trimming.

I am more concerned about oxidisation/staining if the metal is no longer protected.
