    Boothstown. JCT 13 M60

I have ordered a new washer (not dryer this time!)

I am going to dump the wd440 but since you are close, would you like it for spares?

i tested all the wires between the pcb and motor + the two black ones to the pump using a multimeter and there were no breaks.

the only thing that looked a bid dodgy was the pin circled in the picture. It is pretty wobbly. could this be the problem?

with a multimeter, should it show a closed circuit if I check the plug going into the pcb. Or are the wires visible enough that I would spot a broken one.

I’m trying to get as much info as possible before i get home as I have no idea when I will get to look at it.

Thanks for the help by the way, very much appreciated.

Re: hotpoint wd440 time saver / on off flash – stuck in loop

ok. Out of interest, how does the wiring/connection cause such a fault since there appears to be some power to the motor as it spun this morning?

Is the pcb>motor connection purely a data interface? would it be because of some sort of bad connection or is there a resistance check or similar?

    Just curious!

ok, I will look at that when I get home. Maybe pull the plugs to the pcb and re-attach.

If the pcd is faulty, does that mean a hotpoint engineer visit? I presume I can’t just buy a pcb pre-programmed?

there are five vertical lights on the left of the machine. The flashing one is the 4th of these from the top.

I left the machine off all night and switched it on this morning. I selected a wash program and it added a small amount of water, did a wierd extremely high rpm spin for a few seconds and then back to the flashing light and pump on.
