Does it still mean the valve need replacing if either one of the valves is leaking or can it be “fiddled” with to cure the fault.

The drain hose is not connected to the sink but goes straight into a waste pipe.

Thank you Steve,,The machine doesn’t always take the conditioner, and after the wash has completed and the machine emptied a small amount of water appears in the drum after a little while . I am ssuming the 2 probs are associated with a faulty inlet valve. Do you think this is a possibilty.

That was a cracker,,, the grease is like an extra seal 😆

When I tell my wife what you said she will probably answer, “Thats why all the dodgy greasy spoon cafe’s don’t bother cleaning, its all for safety”.

Hello gents.
Well my time has come to replace the conditioner inlet valve as per Dave’s suggestion in my earlier email back in Feb.

I had a quick look at what was involved and I am confident about replacing it with the mains isolated of course.
I am about to order the part number 55X7869 Triple Cold Inlet Valve, is there anything I need to be weary about and is it relatively straight forward to fit.
I think when this is done we will hopefully have a machine in good condition and working well without having spent an arm and a leg thanks to you gentlemen.

Thanks,, I very much appreciate the care you people take over safety, just to clarify I will not be touching any gas connections.but I would like to be able to lift the hob even just to clean under the edge..Not to linger on this point but do you reckon it could have a flexible pipe that will allow me to lift it.

Martin,,, The power supply plug for the hob is next to the oven power supply plug on a double switched socket. I have swapped them round just to make sure the socket isn’t faulty. The oven works on both, the hob doesn’t work on either.

Just a quick question,,, The new brushes were much thinner than the originals and not quite as wide would this account for a kind of whizzing sound when the machine is in spin. It’s no big deal and everything seems to be working fine, I just thought I would ask.

Good afternoon gents.

We ll I said I was positive the hob didn’t have a mains cable,, how wrong I was, it’s a good job I didn’t decide to become a service engineer when I was a young man, goodness knows how I would have finished up.
I did find the mains cable and checked that fuse was ok, which it was, so can I take it from that there is nothing else I can do myself.
Is the hob likely to be connected to a flexible gas supply pipe, I just thought if it was then I could ease the hob out and maybe replace the faulty ignitor.

If you chaps believe I should leave it all alone and use matches, then thats what I will do..

The hob was bought at the same time as the oven and matches, so maybe the model number is similar.

Thank you Martin for the advise,, I just thought that fixing the igniter wouldn’t involve touching any gas connections,, if it did I wouldn’t even consider it..
I even wondered if might be a battery somewhere that might need changing,, could that be a possibility, if so surely that wouldn’t need an engineer would it??

Motor off brushes inspected, they are almost down to the metal, less than an eight of an inch, so with that in mind I am about to order a new set, is the set I need CAR79, if so I will order them tonight. It is certainly worth a try. If it comes to the worst, can you tell me if BEKO and Bosch are worth considering,,, Empirdirect are offering the Bosch 1200 spin with a free 5 year P/L warranty free delivery.
