    Thanks electrofix,

    I think you may be right, the whistling is fairly quick and cyclical, possibly faster than the drum rotation.

    Is it easy to get to the idler pulleys? Would 123 oil or grease be best as the lubricant?

    Thanks just my luck, we’ve been keeping the door almost empty but it still doesn’t stop the caes breaking! Cant find the official part on the Siemens web site do you know where I can get them? I’m going to attempt to repair the existing door(s) I have two that have broken, don’t really want to pay £200 for a third!

    Thanks how much do new doos cost and where do you get them from, we live in the Isle of Man so there’s probably no local stockist?
