Cheers Dave,
I took a punt and got a recon motor off eBay. It arrived today and we’re all good to go. I guess the tacho itself was the problem as the motor did spin up during one of the tests. I’m a much relieved man!

ParticipantRe: AEG Lavatherm T37400 – On/Off switch question
Thanks for the reply. It’s a bit more involved that that, I’m afriad!
I wasn’t 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} accurate in my description of the situation. The On/Off switch does not start off the drying cycle. This is done by a Start button which will only activate once power is supplied to the machine. Therefore, if I use a a standard timeswitch, it will power the dryer on but I then need to physically push the Start button for it to work!
What I want to do is leave the dryer on at the On/Off switch and put a timer on the START button (sorry that got this wrong originally…). If I can remove the control panel and simply splice my timer circuit in series with the switch that would be great. However, if the Start button is mounted directly onto a PCB I’m stuffed! Does anyone know??
Also, so I can use the right rating of relay, does anyone know the wattage of the dryer? My test circuit is 300W but I doubt that this is high enough.
Thanks again
Irvin
