The foaming up causes the stat to trip because there isn’t enough water around it to conduct the heat around.
If you can’t get a stat, switch to powder as it doesn’t foam up. You shouldn’t have to reset it again.
This is definately the case, I’ve opened the door halfway through the cycle to check the water /foam with both tablet and powder.

….. We will be switching to powder so the new stat isn’t tripping all the time, only two tabs left now 😉 .
Switched to powder – no foaming and it cleans better!Ivor

This is a current problem with these dishwashers and a new stat is available which is self reseting. The TOC is only rated at 78 degrees 10amp at 250volts….and trips out regulary. Try to speak to your supplier about the new stats and get one fitted.
The carlton slimline is the same appliance and also suffers the same problem, don’t change the bank of 3 stats(its a pain) as this won’t cure the problem. Unfortunately Carlton don’t seem to be able to supply a modified stat.
There is no part number for the modified stat but are sent foc to agents for use on Necht appliances. We replace this stat whenever we attend a Necht regardless of fault.

ps…please don’t swamp me with request for the stats i don’t have have the stock holding.AM I GLAD I FOUND THIS MESSAGE!!!!
I bought a Carlton dishwasher in the sales December 2003 for use in our new extension. I only got around to fitting it a few weeks ago, and after a few uses it stopped advancing the timer. Curry’s didn’t want to know, nor did covermaster, 12 months is 12 months!I took it to bits, and eventually traced the fault to a tripped stat. It’s a KSD31 78deg as you probably know. I’ve spent days trying to find one, the local parts suppliers have never seen one like it. The ones on the internet are the button types and do not screw through.
So, you have confirmed my diagnosis, that the water temp is getting to high since after it is reset, it is ok for a few days. It is such a pain to pull out the dishwasher to reset it that I have bypassed it (naughty I know) until I can get hold of one.
