    Re: Servis M6216al …….Help.

Hi, just to be sure I don’t damage the brushes trying to check them can somebody please advise me on the best way to remove them.
    😕

There looks to be a unit holding the brushes in place on the motor casing and there is a spade type connecter on the bottom of the brush housing holding a spring and a length of copper wire – am I correct in assuming the spade connector once removed will allow the spring, copper wire and eventualy the brush to be removed and inspected (if its anything like my drills), or will the whole brush housing need to be removed and replaced?

I dont want to remove the wrong thing and then have extra problems on my hands so any help is gratefully received.

    many thanks.

    follow-up…………
Yes the machine does have a spin cycle but again nothing happens other than the pump to drian the drum works and thats about it.

Just to note though, I connected an multimeter to the contacts on each brush and then rotated the drum (curcuit connections removed to the rest of the machine) and found that a nominal build up in electrical current was registered on the reading – which I guess would hint that the brushes where likely to be ok **** please correct me if I’m wrong though ****

Hi, yes when it is put onto any cycle it basicaly does the same thing.

The spin only function (if remember correctly) is combined with a rinse, but basicaly (having tryed about 10 – 15 different program settings and even changing the spin speed (and canceling the spin) it does the same thing – it fills up with water, waits a minute and empties etc etc as it would do normaly

The drum rotates correctly and looks to be stable, the belt sits comfortaby on rear of the drum and is not slack, and there is no visible evidence of any damage to any internal parts in the upper area of the machine (like leaky pipes). I have not examined the underside of the machine and the motor as of yet….

    thank-you for your help.
