ParticipantRe: Zanussi WJS1265W dryer not working.
Problem resolved.
With a bit of digging and Googling, I discovered that his machine has been used by a number of manufacturers and re-branded.
So I decided to do a search on this forum for dryer faults regardless of brand and came across this post that solved it for me:

My fault turned out to be the same, loose wire on the condensor sensor. So, thanks for this forum, as it is definitely helping people. 😀

Point taken… 🙁
I agree that live testing is not recommended and having repaired a fair share of computer screens and power supplies in the 15 years, I know it is risky and that 230v has a nice kick… 😯
I’ve done most of my testing of the components (continuity and resistance) with the power cable unplugged and only powered it up to run the cycle and monitor what the controller is doing which is the only method I’m used to.
Although, I must say I’m quite curious to find out how one test the controller board without power or a test-jig as it is micro-controller based and requires power to operate. So, I said “ground” when I meant to say “neutral”. The point I was trying to make is that if the one end of the circuit or element is high/live, then the other end needs to be low/neutral/ground in order for the heater element to work.
Now that I know that I can’t get a service manual anywhere either, does anyone know how to resolve this particular fault, or am I forced to wait and see how many parts the service engineers have to replace until they eventually get it right?
I do appreciate that this is probably not a very common fault and I never expected the guys to fix it on the first visit either, but after a 2nd service call the costs are escalating and I don’t want to end up paying more or close to what a new machine would have cost me ether. Thanks
