The machine is 10 years old or there abouts, so it has lasted quite a time; though I do remember it needed a new controller board under warrantee (but that was because I manually forced on the timer whilst on a spin.) However, maybe user error shouldn’t be a reason for the board to blow!
I will investigate the machine internals and check the board. My wife tells me that when the fuse blew, there was an acrid smell in the garage so it may well indicate something’s fried in the electronics.
I won’t be splashing out 90 quid on a new board if that is the problem, but I’m no expert so we’ll see where we’re at when I look at it this weekend.
If anybody has some good advice on a replacement then that would be appreciated. If a slightly more expensive machine pays for itself through better warrantee and more efficiency then I could be swayed…
