Bought for a tenner from partscentre.co.uk

you can just pull out the tacho off the back off the pump/motor, and refit the new one.

point of interest: there’s a large rather scary looking capacitor on the motor. I wasn’t brave enough to go near it…. suggest you don’t either.

FYI. I ohm tested the tacho (two yellow wires), it showed an open circuit. I bought a BEKO washing machine tacho from some parts place for about £9. Fitted it and it’s done the trick.

    Beer time.

    Mic drop.

Incidentally, if anyone else needs to read fault codes, here’s how (surprisingly difficult to find this info).

    11 SERVICE MODE
With this procedure it is possible to access the Service Diagnostics System. To activate the function:
    1. Press and hold down button S2.
    2. PressbuttonS0toswitchtheapplianceon LED L2 flashes.
LEDs L3 and L4 light up.
Once this mode is accessed, it is possible to:
    • read and cancel the alarms.
    • control the operation of the various components of the appliance.
    • start the Service diagnostics mode.

11.1 Reading the alarms and activating the individual components
    After accessing the diagnostics mode:
    1. Wait till LEDs L3 and L4 switch off.
    2. PressbuttonS2.
the End of cycle LED shows the first alarm memorised with a flashing sequence.
    3. PressbuttonS2othertwotimestodisplaytheothertwomemorisedalarms. the End of cycle LED displays the alarms.
    4. From the fourth activation the test of the single components starts according to the defined sequence

the LED L3 switches on and remains on for the whole duration of the test of the components. 4th actuation: regeneration solenoid
    5th actuation: drain pump
6th actuation: water fill solenoid and washing pump (water up to level)
7th actuation: heating (only if water up to level) 8th actuation: washing pump
    9th actuation: detergent/rinse-aid dispenser
    10th actuation: drying fan
11th actuation: it starts again from the first alarm

I’ve managed to find this on t’interweb for that fault code.

    Fault
Problems with the washing motor: no signal from the tachometric generator (washing pump powered, but no signal from the generator)

    Machine status
The heating element is switched off. If the fault persists after the Time-out, the washing pump operates at maximum speed and the alarm code is stored in memory (the cycle continues)

    Possible causes
Motor winding interrupted / short-circuited; motor jammed (foreign bodies); wiring to washing motor faulty; motor capacitor faulty; Tachometric generator interrupted / short-circuited; circuit board faulty.

Update. I think I’ve managed to extract an error code. Through fiddling with the buttons I can get into some error code display mode. Here’s what I get each time I then press the prog button.

    1. 13 flashes on the end LED
    2. 13 flashes on the end LED followed by one on the washing phase LED.
    3. 13 flashes on the end LED
    4. 4 flashes on end LED
    5. 5 flashes on end LED
    6. 6 flashes on end LED
    7. 7 flashes on end LED
    8. 8 flashes…
    9. 9 flashes…
    10. 10 flashes…
    11. Back to 13 flashes and the whole loop starts again.
