ParticipantHello Brian,
Bowing out now after your latest advice. New fridge now on order. Jasper.jaspiper
ParticipantHello Brian (?),
Waiting tor any further advice from anyone, I’ve had a further thought…that the compressor is not getting switched off for some reason. That would explain, what I thought was a persistent ‘gurgling noise, if so, is that likely to be a repairable fault (on a seven or eight year old fridge) ? Jasper.jaspiper
ParticipantHello Brian (?)
Keeping a check on my fridge, I’m now further mystified. Over the next 24 hours, the fridge frosty ice I mentioned has melted (too much for the drain hole ?)forming a considerable pool of water on the bottom of the fridge….which has then started to freeze and the same top right spot, at the point where the thermo sensor passes thro’ has started to refreeze. Help! Jasper.jaspiper
ParticipantRe: Diplomat fridge on permanent ‘freeze’
I’m grateful for such a prompt reply….thanks.
Yes, I have looked at the top, right, area and yes, it is in fact covered with a quite extensive patch of frosty ice. perhaps 5mm at its thickest. I feel a bit of a fool, not to have noticed this myself.
Thanks again. What next? Jasper. -
