    Thanks for your detailed reply. With the front panel loose but attached somehow at the base I should be able to get the belt over the drum and past the rollers with drum raised and supported by about 15mm. I think ?
    It seems from what you say I will have exactly the same problem getting the belt over the fan/impeller even if I had worked from the back? The motor spindle goes into an arched/circular air intake housing containing the impeller. Has four snap fittings at the front which I have released, but if I can release at the back somehow I can remove it and slide the belt over the impeller. Remove impeller from the spindle only if absolutely necessary.
    I assume the later versions with the small secondary belt don’t have this issue. Trying to get into the head of the designer of this machine, but struggling!
