    it sounds as though he has left something unplugged behind evap cover.what is the lcd displaying?is there one section of frg side lcd lit?

    have you checked the damper motor/solonoid which controls air flow into fridge.it may be stuck in close positon.manually open it/remove cover from back of frg wall for a few hours and see if there is difference in temp.

    i think you’ve wired it direct to the compressor(ie.ptc connection) rather than live connection in connector block.

    Problem can be due to evap sensor out calibration,evap heater/themal fuse o/c.Sometimes the plenhiem becomes porous absorbing water and causing ice build uparound the fan.
