    Hello. I was searching online as my Hotpoint hob paint started to bubble and flake after just one year, It’s in the same place as yours. I have not used any harsh chemicals or put anything hot there. It’s now 3 years old and I avoid any contact with that area but of course the paint continues to chip and the bubbling has spread so at some point it will all come off the front. and the metal will continue to rust. It looks terrible and I feel I have no choice but to replace the entire hob as the trim is not available as a separate part. I look after what I have and am sure there is a fault in the paint finish for it to happen so soon. I always thought the heat from the grill was causing the paint to bubble.
