thanks gegsy….Sorry I should of mentioned Im an NIC registered electrician and used to working on such high voltages. Alot of my work involves installing very large 3ph machinery, Heidelberg 7 colour printing presses to name but a few. Recently we had to run a 150mm 4core swa round the outside of a building on cable tray 10′ up. It was delivered on a 6′ diameter drum which had to be hydraulically lifted of the ground to enable the drum to rotate.. and because of the sheer weight of the cable had to be manned every 15′ so as it could be pulled of the drum….I could bore you with the combined loading current of the press and its dryers and calculated volt drop over the lenght of run …but at the end of the day all i wanna do is fix my micro 🙂

what you said previously was spot on it is the door cable that has been severed…..Is it expensive to replace? I think it plugs into the bottom of the door…

If it is expensive like some of these things are, I could extend them by neatly soldering new wires onto existing and heat shrinking over them to insulate them? I know they must take a bit of punishment from the door opening and closing… what would be your advice?
