Ok, thanks for that – I presume a continuity test to see when they go open/closed circuit – any idea which one controls the heater circuit?

Hi and thanks for responding 😀

I have checked the float switch and that seems ok. Is there any way to check the timer unit or is it that we are at the point that it can’t be anything else. I even took everything apart again and checked the heater and thermostats a 2nd time to make sure i didn’t make an error.

If it helps, the drum rotates and switches briefly in the opposite direction and then rotates again so not stuck in reverse.

I have the exact same fault on my hotpoint TDC30 as described above and have also continuity checked everything inc all 3 stats, elements etc. How does the timer unit affect heat production, mine seems to work ok in terms of rotating etc?? I have also replaced the relay in case it was the high/low heat switch affecting things as mentioned somewhere.
