Re: Samsung SR-L3626B Keeps switching off!

All sorted now, It was a build up of metallic whiskers around the power switch so the unit thought it was being turned off and on as the switch was shorted! Took a long time to find!!

I changed the defrost heater but the fridge/freezer stil switches itself off and on all day! Anyone got any ideas what else I can try? Would the evaporator temp sensor cause this fault? Thanks Carl.

Ok I have checked the defrost heater for continuity and there is none so this must be my problem.

    Thanks for your help.

    Carl.

No I have not checked the defrost heater could this cause the appliance to switch itself off? How should it be tested? resistance or continuity?

    Many thanks Carl.

Re: Samsung SR-L3626B fault code RD?

I have taken of the plastic backing from the freezer and saw the damper rotating when i turned the fridge freezer on but after 4 seconds i hear a click from the top of the fridge and everything shuts down with the rd error? The damper and motor must be fine for it to spin so perhaps a sensor?
Also the was no ice present at all.

Ok I have done a little searching and as far as i can tell the damper blows cold air from the freezer to the fridge so the damper must be behind my freezer compartment? Is there any checks i should do to know what may have actually packed up?

    Thanks in advance Carl.

Thanks for the quick reply Bob, Please can you explain what the damper/baffle is? I’m wanting to do the repair myself but don’t know where to start or where to get the parts for my appliance?

    Thanks Carl.
