you can get cleaner for your machine the hotpoint website (limescale and detergent remover part no c00090908)if you use a quick wash on a regular basis the detergent wont get flushed away because you only get one rinse on a quick wash.so the soap powder stays in the tank and begins to smell over time .there is a topic in the forum on quick wash by martin well worth a read.

check the wiring to display board for damage.at the plug going to display board .failing that replace display board and wiring for display.try the wiring first.

under the pile if ice there will be a drain that will be blocked. un plug it and leave the door open to defrost then clear the drain that goes thru to the compressor (black pot at the rear of the fridge)you can speed things up a bit with a hairdryer or a steamer to defrost the ice.dont go at it with a knife you might burst the pipework then that will be bye bye fridge. did you say you replaced the door lock ?did you unplug door lock plug and look at connection pins on plug for burn marks.bell out the door lock wiring (check for continuity). would go for d/lock first before replacing the mod

    Re: Hotpoint BWD129 Fault

is the machine draining out the water ? lights 1,3 and 4 is an f0-11 fault which means the pump cannot be activated. check the wiring and connections and the pump for continuity with a multi meter .before you do any thing always unplug the machine.
