thanks Dave. Had a look at the element in operation, with the cover removed. When first turned on, with cotton setting, the both elements glow red quickly. After 30 secs or so, they both turn off and don’t come back on unless I restart the machine. On synthetics setting, neither element comes on at all. This explains why I get some heat. Could it be the controller? As the dryer is only just over 2 yrs old and not been used that much, I’m surprised there’s this sort of problem.
