Re: LG belt…..recommended one is wrong

Ok, so I enquire about that part and here is the response:

    “Dear Mr. xyz,

Again, the part number you gave refers to two belts. The first is 5045-1720-3975-0 which is 1182mm and the second is 5045-1782-4665-7 for which we do not have the measurement details. Both products are special order items which means that they have to be ordered in especially from the manufacturers and can therefore take 14-28 working days for delivery from the point of ordering”

Do I have any option other than to order the 2nd one and hope?

Couldn’t LG make this a little more complicated, it just bores the hell out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: LG belt…..recommended one is wrong

Thing is it is a major mission to get a belt ordered in UK, and sent out to me, only to find it is the wrong one.

LG in SA are worse than useless, so I need to make sure of the right belt…………….I bought the machine in UK, so I contacted LG UK. The first part they recommended was the on ei had alreday received (incorrect) – they then asked for the serial # and came up with 2 other part numbers.

How difficult can it be just to get a belt with the same numbers? Or is this not how things work?

really need to get this right before old belt breaks.
    Anyone? 😕

    Thanks for that advice iadom!

The old belt is still working, doesn’t get thrown off – I was told by the local serviceman here that the sound I hear is a loose belt (it is a squeaky/scratchy sound every time the drum starts to move, especially when I have a fullish load in).

So luckily machine is still working.

You asked about number son the belt I was sent:
    5 PJE 1182 and
    9 257 are all I can find.

I am worried about using the amount of force you recommend – if I do get the belt on, won’t it destroy either the motor or drum bearing under such tension? If it is designed that way (?) I will give your method a go.

Hi – yes numbers on original belt are:
    4PJ 1120
    076L7 1305

Sheer brute force – hell, this will need hydraulics to get the recommended part on!!

Belt I was sent is about 112cm diameter – the original (still working – just) is about 116-166.5cm. I can’t get 4cm stretch even with a jimmy bar! :rolls:

    What’s the secret?

    @Bob
: I think LG told me the 4400FR3116B and …….3116D are the same?
