Re: Siemens Siwamat XL1411 stops sometimes and blinks "wasc

OK, I cleaned the sieves of the water hose, man I had rust in the water before I put the filter… 😯
(We have our own water well)
About 4 of the first years, this machine went on quite hig levels of iron and mangan, and the result was very visible in these sieves now, water was very slowly seaping in on the wash powder.
The holes are very small so I had quite difficult to clean it with a needle.
I had good use of my ultrasound cleaner instead, had to use it 3×480 sec and got a waterbath of brown. With things in place again, there was flow as I dont remember seen before..
I cleaned also the housing (where the water goes over the powder in channel I and/or II and noted that there is no poka-yoke on the two hoses from the two solenids for distributing the water 🙂
When I testrun, first I was happy to see that water came on channel 1 in first fill, but only after some second, it switched and also channel II was flooded…
    Same as before…
But, then I realized that there is actually only one program on the machine that actually includes pre-wash, its the knob in position 60+”vorwasch”.
In all other programs, both channels are indeed flooded, probably to keep channel I clean or because some people have so difficult to learn to use channel II for main wash…. 😕

Anyway, why the machine did pump out like after first fill, with all the powder last time, I have no explanation to.
It indicated a first fill meant for channel 1, but there isnt any such on that program.
The only idea I have is that is was on the limit to stop totally due too slow water flow, which I really think was the only fault here, but pumped out instead and re-started by itself.
I ran one normal program now and tested a lot before with water only and it seems to work fine now.
Will update if things are not OK..

    Thanks for all help!

Its not 2 similar soleniods, one for I and the other for II?
Or more of a main valve + a “gate” downstream it?

OK, I can check it. But if its really comes water in the wrong channel, I should to switch the electrical feeding…?

You mean that there are two valves?

Descaling? What does it mean? How is the water diverted to the right or left channel?

Put the knob for spin before program start and it should spin. If put in “no spin”, ofcourse the program stops there. Its for delicate laundry as Martin says.

Does this machine have both Hot and Cold fill or just one cold hose fitted?

Strange, the link works for me here now?
Copy the text in the link and paste in a new browser window?
The machine have only cold water connection.
I read further in the last page of the manual, and there it is stated that the program I run, should be with powder in channel I and II, if I want a pre-wash for extra dirty laundry. Then optional also “Intensiv wash”, (not activated this time).
Thanks for translation, but what is then Anti-crease….? 🙂

    The machine is this one:
    http://www.siemens-home.at/archiv/w{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}C3{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} … L1411.html
    The option there is are:
    Intensiv wash (not activated)
Extra rinsing (activated) (we normally use this one)
Knittershutz (not activated) (cant really tranlsate that but we never use)
Then this time: 60 deg koch/buntwash

In the manual it is written that if you want prewash, regardless of temperature, you should put washing powder in channel I.
(+ II, for the main wash)
The program runs the same but powder is also active during first fill.
If you dont want pre-wash, only fill powder in channel II.
This is what I did, and saw the powder going in during pre-wash fill (the first, not heated), and then pumped out, before the 2nd fill started, which was heated to 60 degrees.

This is basics I think for washing mashines, all I have seen works the same, you dont have to push any buttons to select “pre-wash”, its only steered by if you put powder in channel I or not.
Or am I totally wrong here?

So, I think this is an malfunction on my machine, possible on all programs.
How are the water directed to the two channels, there are two water valves, or some other kind of mechanism?
Perhaps the two valves are connected the wrong way already in factory?
The fills after 2nd seems to be filling in both channels, a bit in I and a bit in II so there all is working as intended anyway.

But shouldn’t the powder be together with the heated water and not pumped out after first fill…?

    Correct!

Re: Siemens Siwamat XL1411 stops sometimes and blinks "wasc

I sat and watched one run today(60 deg normal wash, extra rinsing) and ofcourse the program went as intended.
But I noted one strange thing, the first part of the wash, there is a pre-wash, without heating, right?
I saw that the water was taken in via part 2, where I hade put the washing powder for MAIN wash!
It means that the powder was taken in too early according to me, instead the water should go via part 1, where I can put pre-wash powder optionally.
So, after the first pre-wash, all water + most of the washing powder is pumped out…
The during main wash with heating, only some remains of washing powder is inside the machine…
This is a fault in my eyes, and possibly from beginning of use of this machine….or is it the correct way of working for a modern machine..? :rolls:
Later in the program and during rinse, water was taken also some times from part 1 and/or the softener section, so there is a switch at least.

Unfortunatley, the production is moved to Slovakia or something and I think the whole business is a year ago or so and they are not the same anymore… 🙁

    A true horror indeed!
In Sweden at least, your guarantee would still be effective as they didn’t repair correctly during the guarantee period.
I think there is some help to get from uk consumer organization and even from EU.

😀 What I mean is that it worked perfect since I bought it back then, new, until now.
