I have a Miele Fridge Freezer that has intermittently made weird noises (can only liken it to a softly trumpeting elephant!) since I bought it 18 months ago. I made numerous calls to customer services and had a service engineer round, but of course it never performed at the right time and no-one could explain why it was happening. In the end I resigned myself to living with it.

Then a couple of days ago, on a whim, I reduced the temperature setting to 3 degrees C – and then noticed the ‘trumpeting’ had stopped. Can’t tell you how happy that made me. So looking at the temperature setting might be worth a try.
