Re: Hotpoint WF340 ~ ERROR wash enhance & on/off flashin

I have just run the machine on a ‘quick wash’ at 30deg and it worked fine, did as it should and no lights came on. The machine was then left on standby overnight (turned on but not started on any cycle) and when I get up in the morning the light is flashing again, even though it has not been used/run through a cycle? Is this typical behaviour?

Thanks for all the advise so far.

Today I set off the dishwasher to see what would happen if I left it running, as previously it just seemed to keep going (stuck on wash) and not bring up any error code.

I set it off on the ‘BIO’ wash, when it got to the wash part of the cycle it got stuck again, so I left it running on this while I went out. On returning it has brought up an error code, all 5 of the program lights were lit and the first 2 (out of 5) program phase lights were flashing, according to my manual this is a E3 error which says ‘the appliance is unable to pump out the water’ but I went onto Smeg support site and according to the errors on there E3 is no heating? Considering it has pumped the water out I am presuming my manual is wrong.

When I checked mid cycle the water wasn’t warm but had definatly heated a little as it wasn’t freezing cold (being cold feed only) and having checked the heat element that was ok.

Could it be a temperature thermostat that is faulty, if so where would this be located? Also does anyone know what the resistance should be for the thermostat (hot+cold) as I can get that checked before buying a new one?

If not the thermostat any other ideas on what could be wrong would be appreciated.

    Thanks once again, Kelly.
