Re: Bosch WFR 2860 long cycle times

gegsy, you are correct, I never usually check the temperature of the glass door. I have just done so in the middle of a 90 degree wash (when it says ‘wash’ in the display) and the glass is cold. I’ve aslo paused the wash and checked the water inside, this is also cold. I assume there may be times during this cycle when cold water is used, but maybe not during ‘wash’.

Does the heater failure account for the prolonged wash times (i.e the wash takes longer because clothes don’t clean as well in cold water)?

    Boro,
we’ve pretty muh only used the one setting since we got the machine, but its only in the last few months that the cycle times have become prolonged.

I’m not particularly bothered by it, but it can be a bit frustrating when you programme a finish time and its still going 2 hours later.

    BSH-MAN,

doesn’t appear to have a quick or eco setting that can be selected by the user. I think the turbidity feature was supposed to be economical, by shortening a wash if the water was running clear, but that’s automatic and can’t be switched on or off.

    gegsy, thanks for your reply

no obvious problem with the waste-pipe (its plumbed into the drain pipe under the kitchen sink (no blockage there either), and this setup is not new, it was the same when the cycle times were shorter than now.

    Filter appears clear.

I don’t have the knowledge/skills to check the heater (although I do own a voltmeter with an ohms scale on it, used in the past for motorcycle electrics).

Martin, thanks, I will try your strategy as well. Have to admit to using a major supermarket’s own brand wash liquid, is it that different from Ariel, Bold etc?
