5 years about half that I guess…..(Miele/ISE/Siemens/Bosch etc)That’s a bit of an eye opener! I didn’t realise Bosch longevity isn’t as good as it used to be. Any links as to where I might find a cheaper motor if it turns out new brushes doesn’t cure it?

Old brushes look ok; about a centimetre left. Ordered some new ones so will give that a go, oh and please, spare me the :rolls: :rolls: :rolls:

PS. A Sub £300 Bosch will be a pale imitation of the machine already you have. 😉
So you’re saying the WAE24165GB is not up to much then?

At about £230 for a new motor, I think not! I can get a Classixx 1200 for £299 including free delivery.
Good to know that ripoff Britain is alive and kicking when it comes to buying spare parts

Would worn brushes cause the noise and lack of top speed Chris?

I did that but it doesn’t really give enough detail, but thanks anyway. If I took off the lid and undid the torx screws at the front of the soap box would it pull out then?

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFO2064GB/01 not taking softener
Hello H!
Thanks for taking the time to reply. If I put it on a rinse it does take water into the prewash section at a good rate of knots. Above the softener compartment there are about 20 small holes which I assume allow the water into the softener? I have poked a paper clip into all of them and they seem clear, so I assume I might have to take off the lid of the machine to get to other side of them as it were!

ParticipantRe: Neff B1430 oven query
Well I managed to remove the old element and sure enough it meters as dead, but I notice that the element I have on order (ELE2044) no longer has the earth connection, which seems a bit of a backward move to my way of thinking, or am I missing something? Surely it’s better to have a solid earth connection rather than relying on the chassis screws. So am I right in thinking I just need to lose the existing earth wire somewhere safely out of the way as it is now redundant?

Thanks Penguin, you’re a star! Getting grief from ‘er indoors as she wanted to use it this weekend :rolls:

ParticipantRe: Neff B1430 oven query
Thanks for that; I suppose what I should have asked was whether it was simpler to take the unit out and replace the heater element from the rear rather than trying to do it from inside the oven. I installed it myself and left plenty of slack in the mains cable for such contingencies. I will of course isolate the mains before working on it 😀
