Re: Hotpoint Ultima WMA60 – pump problem help!

It just gets better and better!!

After taking the pump back to his workshop he tested it again and found it not to be faulty!

He has run a few more tests on the wiring that he can get to and belives now that there must be a break/fault in the wiring at some point that he can’t get access to so he is taking the machine away to work on it as there is no room in my kitchen (there isn’t!). I’m just glad all the labour is covered under the initial £25 call out fee!!

It seems as if the moter on the pump has burnt out, at least that is what the man says. He’s taken the pump out and is going to replace it this afternoon. We’ll have to wait and see!

Re: Hotpoint Ultima WMA60 – pump problem help!

Thanks for your honesty! I’m calling in the cavalry tomorrow, although it is a bit hit and miss here in Gibraltar. Whether the guy can actually replace parts, i’m doubtful, but at least he can test the pump and wiring for me. If i then have to go online to order – so be it!
Thanks again and i will let you know the outcome.

Re: Hotpoint Ultima WMA60 – pump problem help!

I have replaced the original block with the 2 spade terminals as advised but the pump is still not running. Any further ideas?
I made sure to isolate the two terminals, and just tried it on a rinse and spin. the rinse was no problem and i was so certain that it would work, but no. When the machine gets to the point of draining it just shuts off and the machine says END.
Any further advice would be very much appreciated.

Great, got you now! as they say a picture paints a thousand words!

Will give it a go tomorrow.

Could the reason for this problem be a possible blockage in the pump? Is it worth taking the pipes off to check or do you think it is unrelated?

    Cheers

Re: Hotpoint Ultima WMA60 – pump problem help!

    Thanks

unfortunately though I have looked online for spade connectors, but they do not appear to be the right bits. The connector I am looking for is a small white moulded plastic block (think it would be the female end of the connector) with a hole for each of the wires to go into. The male part of the white box is actally connected to the electronic looking black box next to the ?pump

    Any Ideas?
