    Opened it up and done some checking.

    Heating element seems ok from continuity check and gives a resistance of about 30 Ohms. There was lots of singed lint stuck around it though. If there is continuity in the element does that mean it should still work?

    Can’t really tell what thermostat was like. Bi-metal strip seemed a bit rusty but was still ‘clicking’. Does anyone have any suggestions for testing I could do to confirm?

    I put it back together to see if it would heat up after some of the cleaning I did but now it makes a horrible grinding sound when rotating :oops:. I think I must have knocked something out of line on the drum whilst I was removing it. Anyone had a similar experience?

    I’ll open it up to try and find out which bit needs replacing – thanks for the spare part ref’s, they’ll be invaluable. 🙂
